A helicopter was scrambled to chase five British drivers caught tearing through France at speeds of "over 100mph".
The top-range Porches and Lamborghinis were spotted whizzing through traffic by an off-duty police chief on a packed road in Biarritz, in the south of France.
The officer phoned colleagues who scrambled a helicopter to try and catch the drivers as they headed towards Hendaye and then on to Saragossa in Spain on Friday afternoon.
After spotting the chopper hovering overhead, the drivers slowed down, allowing the police cars to catch up.
France has a strict record of penalising speeding drivers, with at least half a million Brits flashed by speed cameras in the country every year.
On-the-spot fines can be more than £100 and the country's police force collected £1.38billion in 2014 alone. Wow!
