The Founder of Resurrection Praise Ministries, Lagos, Archbishop Mustapha Benjamin, has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop its desperation for power by using pastors to achieve its political objective.
Mustapha, who spoke to journalists in Lagos, was reacting to information allegedly released by the party that 25,000 pastors had agreed to pray for the APC presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, at Teslim Balogun Stadium last Tuesday in Lagos.
“Nothing could be misleading than such information because nothing like that happened,” he said.
Benjamin urged the party to stop making mockery of Christian religion.
“I want to appeal to APC leaders to stop dragging the names of clergymen into their propaganda too,” he said.
Mustapha, who claimed that he has the permission of Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), and other Christian groups in Nigeria to react to the APC claime, stated that such falsehood is capable of causing rift among Christian community in Nigeria.
“I was disturbed when APC held a press conference announcing that 25,000 clergymen would gather on Tuesday to pray for Buhari, because, I don’t think we have up to 25,000 pastors in Lagos”, he stressed.
